Jennifer Haddox-Schatz '00 on Grit, Mentors, and Paying It Forward
Jennifer Haddox-Schatz ‘00, Senior Applications Architect at Daniel H. Wagner Associates and a founding member of the department’s Technical Advisory Board (TAB), sat down with host Briana Lewis on Gators on Purpose, Allegheny’s career and professional development podcast.
Haddox-Schatz arrived at Allegheny with no programming experience and was ready to drop her first-semester computer science course. She stuck with it, and went on to spend more than twenty years building a career in defense software architecture. In the episode, she reflects on what it took to keep going, why staying open to change mattered, and the mentors who helped her get to where she is today.
Students may recognize her from the department’s recent Interview Do’s & Don’ts session, where she shared hiring case studies drawn from her own experience on the other side of the table.
